The Richmond Public Interest Law Review (PILR) welcomes submissions from authors interested in having their articles considered for publication in Spring 2026 General Topics Issue. As a bonus, all authors will receive five complimentary copies of the print edition of the issue in which they are published.
The PILR is a publication dedicated to issues of social welfare, public policy, and public interest law. We publish three issues each year which include articles written by Richmond students, emerging scholars, Virginia policy professionals, practicing attorneys, and law professors from across the United States and around the world.
Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis. When our 2026 issues are full we will begin accepting pieces for 2027, so off-cycle submissions are encouraged. Manuscripts should be submitted via Scholastica. Additional information about submission guidelines and procedures is available at https://richmondpubintlawrev.scholasticahq.com/for-authors.
Length Limitations: PILR prefers articles between fifteen to thirty law review pages, including text and footnotes. Submissions exceeding this length may significantly impact their chances of acceptance.
If you have any further questions about submitting to the PILR, please feel free to contact the journal’s Editor-in-Chief, Sarah Harker at sarah.harker@richmond.edu
